Clean Chemistry, a portfolio company of Black Bay Partners, is a technology-forward organization focused on solving industry’s water treatment and microbial control issues with cleaner, safer chemistry. PeroxyMAXTM, Clean Chemistry’s foundational oxidant technology, is currently being utilized in full-cycle water treatment solutions for the energy, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and other water-intensive industries with near-term expansion into municipal water treatment applications. In every industry served, Clean Chemistry strives to provide sustainable, customizable, and smart solutions for difficult treatment challenges.
Our History
Clean Chemistry was founded with a mission to develop and commercialize new water treatment and sanitization technologies that align with today’s sustainability goals. Since entering the industrial water treatment market with its core technology, Clean Chemistry has expanded its offerings as an innovative chemistry and service company with solutions in food and beverage, energy, pulp and paper, and any industry that relies on significant water use. Our creative roots inspire us to stretch the limits of our technology, evolve with the industries we serve and constantly grow our portfolio of products and services to best meet our customer’s needs. Clean Chemistry’s world class team has offices in Longmont, Colorado, Midland, Texas, and The Woodlands, Texas.

Melissa Katzenberger

Melissa joined the Clean Chemistry leadership team as Vice President – Controller in 2024. She has over 20 years’ experience in various financial roles including, most recently, Vice President of Finance – Global Projects and Process and Vice President of Finance – Heat Transfer Services at Chart Industries, Inc. Prior to that she was Director of Project Assurance at Strike, LLC, Director of Finance & Accounting for Lummus Technology at McDermott International, Ltd and Director of Finance & Accounting for both the Engineering & Construction Operating Group and Fabrication Services Operating Group at CB&I.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and an MBA in Accounting, both from Sam Houston State University. She is a certified public accountant in the State of Texas.

Todd Wiseman joins Clean Chemistry as the new vice president, business development for the food and beverage segment. Todd has over 16 years’ experience building customer relationships, cultivating long-lasting partnerships, generating robust sales growth and managing profitability. He was most recently Director of North American Sales at Arxada/Enviro Tech Chemical Services, Inc. Todd also held positions of Director of Technical Sales and Corporate Sales Manager at Enviro Tech Chemical Services, Inc. and Master Food Safety Consultant at Zep Inc. Wiseman received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Alderson Broaddus University.
